Google Maps have been launched officially in Europe for its users, as told by the sources. This means that the upgradation process of the Google Sitemaps and driving directions have come to an end. It has been seen that other search engines like Ask.com only maps up the locations, while yellowpages.com has entered into a licensing deal with Microsoft's Virtual Earth/WLL. The use of this will integrate high-resolution aerial mapping, which is yet to arrive.

However, the thing which is still unique about Google Sitemaps is its innovative features. It is said that MapQuest which is to launch soon offers the feature of single search box too (it's "Place Name" box) apart from its already exsisting multi-search box feature. The user response says that features of single search box is much more convenient to use than the multiple one.

Lets hope that in near future the top competitors of Google like Yahoo! and Microsoft makes this feature as the part of their services as well.

And having seen the opposition – Microsoft Live Mapping – Google’s version isn’t that good at all. MS have far more coverage of the UK and it scrolls much more smootly than the Google version. The only advantage Google has is that journey directions and route planning are easily obtained.
