Google has been really pushing on improvements in mobile search. The latest in its string of new features is quicker answers on smartphone and tablet; or as Google – “richer, more beautiful, and more interactive” search experience. The new results features have been implemented across English language searches on Google.com done on smartphones or tablets.
The new mobile search features allow people to find answers almost immediately, without having to click on other links. Now a search for the local weather will show an interactive display of 10-day and hourly weather forecast. Flight searches will allow you to see a new flight progress/status display along with arrival as well as departure schedules.
As Google explained the new features, "Today when you search on mobile or tablet, you'll see some more improvements in the way we provide these quick answers, including better understanding what information you need and surfacing the most relevant information for you."
The search engine giant also announced quick answers on a number of topics like: currency, stocks, unit conversions, local time, dictionary definitions, and sunrise times. This latest addition of ‘better search answers’ feature follows Google’s contact stream of mobile search improvements. There was reports of smartphone icon being tested in search results, as well as allowing people to do Handwrite search on their smartphones and tablets.
