Not even a month after introducing the preview feature for importing a spreadsheet to the bulk upload tool, Google confirmed in the Products Forum that it is once again rolling out a set of new features to the bulk location management tool in the coming weeks. The process is in a staged development and it might take a little time before all the accounts are upgraded and the new features are at your disposal.

Google Places Brings an Improved Version of Bulk Location Management Tool in the Coming Weeks

Have a look at what's new in the updated version of the bulk location management tool:

  • Status of your locations on map: The Status column in the list of locations in your dashboard will show the current state of each location on Maps. You can figure out which locations are unverified, live, which ones have errors or data conflicts, are duplicates or pending reviews and which are syncing.
  • Updated data conflicts interface: In the updated interface you can see how a location page might look on your dashboard and how it might differ in the maps/search results. To see what information is live on Google and where the conflict is, click on that location in your dashboard. Your dashboard will only note which fields are different compared to the last time you updated your information. However, you may have to refer to your own records to see what data you last entered.
  • Improved import process: Now your data will go live on Google at a higher speed. Google is working on ways to improve the edit time frame.

Google also revealed that it has much more in store for you. It is planning to make changes in the future with which users can make updates and posts using the Google+ page for location and see insights to keep a track of their business’s performance on Google. In addition, they will be able to filter and view relevant subsets of locations within their account.
