Business owners have been using Google places to reach out to local customers, more efficiently. Google has now launched a dedicated application for iPhone and iPod Touch, which will enable business owners to manage their Google Places For Business listing.

There's however no official announcement about the application, but iClarified blog was the first to reveal it. The application is available for free and shows up as Google+ Local on iTunes App Store.

The application makes it easier for iPhone users to verify their business via phone. Here are the other benefits of the app:

  • Update your business information such as hours, address, description, and contact information from iPhone or iPod Touch
  • Post images on Google+ page
  • Track web traffic going to your listing
  • Manage multiple business locations from one application

The Latest Update: The application is completely gone from the iTunes app store. Users are claiming that they can't bring the application up by searching for the complete name. A reply from Google is still awaited.
