It has finally happened! Google+ has opened its gates to all . Everyone can now join Google+ to see the Google view of social networking. For around three months it was undergoing a field trial, wherein a person could join it only on the basis of invitation. But now Google has announced a “free for all” entry, with anybody being able to join the social networking site as and when he wishes.

free for all

And that's not all. Google+ has added a key feature. What's that? Well, it now boasts the search option, something that it had been lacking so far. Now the search option being there, it will be so easy for one to find those people that he wants to reach out to. For example, if you are a Yoga enthusiast and want to interact with Google+ users sharing your passion, then you can type the keyword 'Yoga' in the search box. You will get exposed to profiles of a number of relevant people, and can identify among them the ones you will love to communicate with. Isn't it great?

Then there is this enhanced 'Hangouts' feature. 'Hangouts' was already there. But it has been given a face lift through the following features, making it much more fun.

Hangouts at your mobile phone:
Now you can avail the 'Hangouts' feature through your mobile phone, i.e. the device that you use abundantly to communicate and socialize in your real life. However, please remember that as of now 'Hangouts' is compatible with only Android 2.3+ devices that have front facing cameras. iOS is on the way.

Hangouts On Air:
Then there is 'Hangouts On Air'. An intriguing feature, it helps a user to broadcast himself to a large audience, live. He can just start a normal 'Hangouts', and can broadcast and record his session. While only up to nine other users can join the 'Hangouts', it will be possible for anybody to watch the live broadcast. So thrilling, right? Though as of now there are a limited number of broadcasters, but any Google+ user can avail the feature.

Hangouts with extras:
While 'Hangouts' already boasted of in-room actions like joint viewing of YouTube or having a group chat, now there will be some fun activities to share. They are-

  • Screen sharing- It helps you to share photos or documents that you have on your screen, such as photos of your latest vacation, some certificate of an achievement, etc.
  • Sketchpad- It offers you the fun to draw, sketch or scribble jointly with your 'Hangouts' buddies.
  • Google Docs– It will come in handy if you want to write or prepare a document, etc. with others.
  • Named Hangouts- Through this you can either join or create a public Hangouts based on a certain topic or theme, like cricket, Bollywood, etc.

Hangouts Features

Hangouts APIs:
Google has released a basic set of Hangouts APIs, which will enable users to develop applications, games, and things like that. If you have aptitude in the same and want to go for it, then get the details from the Google+ platform blog.

So now Google+ is there for you with much more fun and enjoyment. Go ahead and have some great time. Good luck to you!.
