Google has announced a new feature for Google+ that will allow mobile sites to drive more traffic to other articles and not just the ones that they are currently displaying on their website. The new feature is a mix of Google Search and Google+, that feed appropriate content on the basis of recommendations earned from social media service Google+.
Forbes is an initial sign-in partner for the feature. So, if you open the Forbes site on your mobile and tap the Google+ logo at the bottom for more articles, expanding this to specific sites you read every day could result in Google+ providing you with lot more articles to read.
The recommendations are on the basis of popular articles viewed by Google+ users and search authorship signals. In case you don't want to read further, all you need to do is tap the G+ option.
Here are some more features:
- The content recommendation can appear even if the visitor is not signed into the Google.
- When the users are signed in to the G+, they will see the recommendations that were shared or +1d by the people in their circles.
- To get a feel of the inclusion, you can visit any article page on Forbes from you iOS or Android device.
Google also talked about its plan to have more in Google+ content recommendations and Google+ Sign-in. It is also looking forward to add more than 50 companies who have already integrated Google+ Sign In to share their stories from Google I/O.Google+ Now Recommending Additional Content for Mobile Websites!,
