Google+ Rolls Out Vanity URLs!

It has been a while, but Google+ has finally rolled out custom URLs for chosen and duly verified profiles and business pages Google+. Google announced the new feature by saying that they “are not ready yet” for everybody to lay claim on their unique URL, but the feature will be rolled out soon. As of now, certain chosen celebrity profiles and pages have got their custom URL. Here are some of the first lucky ones:

Users have been demanding custom or vanity URLs ever since the social network took shape and now Google+ has begun rolling these out. High time it was done, because till now Google+ profile URLs have been near impossible to remember, a fact Google+ acknowledges, “We’re introducing custom URLs to make it even easier for people to find your profile on Google+. A custom URL is a short, easy to remember web address that links directly to your profile or page on Google+.”

Let us see how long does Google take to issue custom URLs for all, and there will be the inevitable mad rush to claim them.
