YouTube and other Google properties can now be used without a Google+ profile. Google plans to trickle out the change in the coming months. Announcing this, Google said that this was in line with people’s feedback.
A Google account is all one would now need to share content on various Google properties, communicate with contacts, create a YouTube channel and engage in other activities across Google. A Google account used in various properties of Google won’t be searchable or followable, unlike Google+ profile that are public.
People who created Google+ profiles only to work on other Google properties rather than Google+ platform itself can now opt to remove their public profiles.
The change, as Google says, will help in creating a more focused Google+ experience. While the original argument was that integration of Google+ with YouTube and other Google properties made if and more convenient for users. They have now changed their line of thought:
“People have told us that accessing all of their Google stuff with one account makes life a whole lot easier. But we’ve also heard that it doesn’t make sense for your Google+ profile to be your identity in all the other Google products you use.”
Google’s step to force Google+ on users drew flak as a method to increase overall network numbers. New policy of Google is better for those who use public Google+ as well as for those who do not.
Google+ will slowly but surely disappear from YouTube. Comments made on YouTube will not appear on Google+. The same would apply other as well.
Features such as moderation options on channels such s blocking certain words, auto-approving comments from certain fans and reviewing comments before they are posted will remain on YouTube, sans Google+. YouTube has been working on its own to reduce the visibility of junk comments.Google+ Profile No Longer Needed to Work on YouTube, Other Google Properties!,
