Since the launch of Google’s Pigeon algorithm on July 24th, the local search results in Google’s English and US centric web and map results have been affected. Google refused to comment on it and said “we probably won’t detail all the changes to local search algorithms as we go.”

Search marketers have noticed several fluctuations and changes in the quality of the search results since the release of Pigeon version 1.1. On searching for New York Hotels, along with several hotel options, the travel search engine Expedia was also displayed in the results. This issue was however fixed very soon.

As per the reports, Google neither confirmed nor denied the changes in the quality of the search results due to the pigeon update. Although Google did say that they do not have any specific update to announce.

This clearly hints that Google will not say anything about the pigeon update.
