Google Removes Authorship Reporting in Webmaster Tools

Now, authors who have an established authorship will not be able to see the average rank of their work, impressions or clicks. The authorship reporting provided a valuable piece of information to authors, helping them in making decisions regarding their writing.

According to several marketers, authorship is a precursor to AuthorRank which is said to be the future of SEO. Thus future optimization efforts will get difficult without any access to Authorship data.

Google is either deliberately being less transparent regards to Authorship or its roll out of the SERP changes has probably damaged the author stats reporting.
