Webmasters can derive higher benefits from campaign execution, management, and analysis by linking their AdWords and Google Analytics accounts. But, the entire process was cumbersome and not at all intuitive.

Google has announced that it will make the process of linking both the accounts simpler – a three clicks step for all Analytics accounts in the coming weeks.

Steps to Link your Accounts

On opening the Admin section of the Analytics account, webmasters will have to click on "AdWords Linking" feature in the Accounts column. They will be taken to the "New Link" section to follow the linking wizard. This can also be accessed in the AdWords by selecting the Google Analytics option present in the Tools and Analysis menu.

Benefits of Linking Accounts

When your Analytics and AdWords accounts are linked, you will be able to import conversions and goals, remarketing lists, and site engagement metrics from Google Analytics to AdWords account. The AdWords data can also be imported in Analytics account in the similar way.

Make sure that you either turn on the auto-tagging option in the AdWords account or tag your URLs.
