Google will start rolling out the new AdWords integration for Google Analytics from today. The major change in the roll out is that campaign name in the Analytics will reflect the latest naming in the AdWords.
Currently, even after renaming a campaign, separate data shows up in the Google Analytics under each name. After the roll-out, the data will be reported under the latest name in the AdWords.
The update is beneficial for those who are only changing naming conventions. They will no longer be required to keep a tab of each name change and add up the stats from each iteration. In case, you have divided the original campaigns into multiple new campaigns, you have to be a little more careful as all the historical data from original campaign will be added under one new name.
Let's take the example of Big Deals campaign. If car accessories is the subset of the Big Deals Campaign, then the numbers shown under Visits, Impressions, and Clicks will give you an inaccurate picture of the historical performance of car accessories segment.
The new platform will also let enhanced campaigns targeting settings show-up in Google Analytics. Moreover, the new AdWords dimensions such as "Ads" will also be available.Google Rolling Out New AdWords Integration for Analytics!,
