Google recently launched Google profiles in their main results, to give you a better control over what people find when they search for your name. These results provide an abbreviated information about the Google profile users and a link to their profile.

Google Profiles

For instance, a search for Matt Cutts, you'll find a picture of Matt, a brief description, and links to services like Google profiles, Facebook and others.

Currently, these profiles are found at the bottom of the U.S name-query search pages. If you want to create a Google profile, then click on the link and follow the simple instructions provided on the page.

To avoid an impersonating scammer from creating a profile, Google profile has an option “verified name” via Google Knol. Similarly, if a user changes his job title to get into the first pages of Google results without even a single backlink. In response, Google's Joe Kraus says “People have no control over how they appear when other people search for them on Google. That’s a big issue we’ve heard … The new results are to better control what people see and improve the ability for people to fine what they’re looking for.”
