In the competitive world of video advertising, Google and Samsung are the best brands. Both have made it to the annual Ace Metrix Brands of the Year list, which is based on the measurements of the video analytics firm Ace Score.
The list of 20 top brands comprises companies from Apparel to Insurance and Restaurants to Beer. While this is a second consecutive year for Google to get its place in the Software & Website category, Samsung was missing in 2013 and picked up wins in Mobile Devices as well as Technology Hardware categories in 2014.
According to Ace, Google has debuted 8 out of 20 best ads and its recent "Year in Search 2014" ad scored 37 percent above category average. The video has received over 17 million YouTube views in three weeks since release.
Samsung had 12 of the 20 ads in the mobile devices category with "Water Resistant" ad being the second highest score across all categories.
