Google released their second Searchology event 2009, in order to inform users, partners and customers about their search progress and new features.

About two years ago, Google had released its first Searchology along with launch of Universal Search. This feature integrated different result types on the result type. Over the years, Universal Search has undergone a lot of changes and improvements, adding new types of results, expanding to new countries and triggering ten times more queries.

The second Searchology event announces a new set of features called Search Options. It is basically a collection of tools, which will allow users to refine their results and generate different views faster and easier.

For example, you're looking for recent forum discussions about a specific product. With the help of Search Option you can search for the product's name as well as apply filter option, to see results from the past week.

The Search Options panel also give users the ability to view results in new ways. One of the views, allow users to get more information about the search result, including images and text. Whereas in the other view, users get to explore and iterate search in different ways. This panel gives users new ways to interact with Google Search. However, Google is planning to add more useful features in the future.

Some of the snippet are going to get more richer is the another announcement. Snippet was a step towards understanding the information you get from a search better. This rich snippet shows more useful information from web pages than the preview text that are you're used to.

For example, if you want to search for reviews about a new restaurant, then rich snippets provide options like the average review score, the number of reviews, and the restaurant's price range:

Google Squared was also showed in the Searchology event. This new search tool is different from normal search engine, since it automatically collects and organizes facts from across the internet. Users can experience the new tool by the end of this month.

All these features explore Google search from a broad and new perspective.
