Google Webmaster Tools is sending out emails whenever they are discover ‘critical issues’ with any website. This is to help webmasters maintain a healthy and useful site. As Google said, “We only notify you about issues that we think have significant impact on your site’s health or search performance and which have clear actions that you can take to address the issue.”
This means you may get an email notification only when Google comes across a huge increase in crawling errors or when it finds malware on the site. Also, to avoid too many email alerts from going out, Google first sees that if the site does not have any critical issue, it only sends a limited number of emails. Looks like a break from those panic inducing bad links warning letters, doesn’t it?
