If you get a video e-mail alert by Google, do not get shocked, as Google introduced this "new caffeine-free way to stay alert" recently.

Now-a-days, videos have become quite popular as a source of information and entertainment. Every day new interesting videos are coming in the market and it it really getting hard to keep track of new videos. Fortunately, Google is here to include video updates on its Alert service. So, through email alerts, video lovers will find it easy to keep track of videos that come out of the web. Alerts are culled from various video uploading sites like, Google Video, YouTube, or many other video sources on the web.

To avail this new alert service, users need to go to the Google Alerts Homepage and select video as the alert type and specify a keyword to filter the type of videos to be included in the Alerts. The other way to set video alerts is Google’s search portal where one can setup the alert while conducting video search. Just below the search results page, a new link to the Google Alerts homepage is available.

Apart from this video alert, Google Alerts is also available for various types of web material like news, blogs or the whole of the web.
