I know of 3 sites in the past 2 weeks that HAVE been buying blog post links etc for about 6 months (end of last year it started), all sitting on the same ip, being slammed with the minus 30-50 penalty. They don't come up no 1 for www.site.com searches (they are somewhere around page 2-3) Looks like a link penalty filter has kicked in. Either because of the initial increase of building links or for stopping the continuous development.
