After rolling-out the beta version of the Updated keyword Tool last year, Google has now decided to make the final transition from Keyword Tool and Search-based Keyword Tool to the much-awaited Updated Keyword Tool. The transition is believed to take place by end-of-August.

The new comprehensive tool comprises features of both the older versions in addition to some new exciting search features. Google believes that with the inclusion of new features, the users will get more refined and specific search results.

Some of the benefits that the new version has over the older tools is the flexible search options that allows the user to search by any of combination of URL, keyword and category and get a single set of results. Easy keyword refinement is another feature that is able to filter the search results by keyword match type. There are other features that give the user an opportunity to view statistics for mobile search as well as to do local searches. Other notable features added to the tool are Removing Duplicate Keywords and Adding Negative keywords.
