Skilled webmasters and SEO experts noted a massive spoke in complaints entered on manual actions issued within Google Webmaster Tools in the Polish regions during the weekend.

Google's Polish Webmaster representative, Karolina Kruszyńska.

confirmed this on Twitter saying:

Yes, we have taken action against one of the systems to exchange links.

She then posted an English version of the same on the social media channel Twitter:

Today Google took action on a large link network in Poland.

Many users believe it is PROLINK.pl.

Poland and link spam is a major issue. The search engine major has pursued many Polish link networks before as well. Google has indicated that many Polish link networks in the past have harmed their clients. The search engine major has even posted about this on the Google Poland blog. Google has been previously questioned over this.

In any case, the search engine major has targeted a major link network in Poland. Google Webmaster Tools need to be checked so sites can ensure they were not hit.

Later in the day, Prolink.pl has confirmed the penalty by Google on their Facebook page.
