Webmasters can use Google Translate for checking if Google is crawling and indexing their content. See if your site can be accessed through Google Translate. This useful tip came up in a Google Webmaster Help thread.

Usually, to find that out, you can login to Google Webmaster Tools and use the ‘fetch as GoogleBot’ tool. However, if you are unable to login for any reason, Google Translate can come handy.

John Mueller of Google explained on the thread that GoogleBot was not indexing a site as when it tried to crawl it, the server was redirecting the Bot to Google Translate showed this happening by showing Google home page loading. This made it clear that the server was blocking spiders from crawling the website.

Google Translate can be used to check crawling as it is usually based on a real-time fetch of the page rather than the cached version.
