Google has quietly made changes in the authorship snippets present within the search results. One of the highly visible changes is the removal of the "more by" author link that linked to the additional stories written by the author.

Google Understates Google+ by Making Significant Changes in the Authorship Snippet!

Moreover, when you click on the author image or name, you are directed to search results page that matches with the author name. Earlier; clicking on "in X Google+ circles", users were taken to the author's Google+ page but now they are directed to search results.

The author image was an easy way to go to the author's Google+ page, when available. With the recent changes, users can get to the Google+ page of the author by clicking on the number of people who have circled that author. We believe that the alteration will definitely improve search experience but marketers or promoters will be disappointed as the change will definitely have an undesirable impact on promotion of businesses or people on Google+.
