Google has once again announced two updates to its bulk location management tool, a month after introducing the improved version of the tool. First, businesses can make updates and posts to their customers using the Google+ page for their location. Second, they can now add or remove managers for a particular location and transfer location ownership.

Google Updates Bulk Location Management- Gets New Social Features and Multi-Admin Functionality

Adding and Removing Managers of Bulk Location:
Managers of bulk locations appear in the status column in your account. Grey icons tell that you are the manager on a location, although you are not the owner. The orange icons indicate that you are the owner of a location. To add a manager to a location:

  • Choose the relevant location from the list
  • Click Add managers
  • Enter the email address or Google+ profile of the new manager
  • Click Invite

You can add or remove managers only if you are the owner. You can also transfer the ownership rights of an entire account to someone else, but for this, the person to whom the ownership is transferred should be an existing manager of the page for at least two weeks. After clicking on Add Managers, click on the dropdown arrow on the card of the person to whom you want to transfer the ownership and select “Transfer ownership to” followed by their name.

To remove a manager from a page:

  • Choose the relevant location from the list
  • Click Add managers
  • Click the cross icon for the person you want to remove

Google+ Social Feature:
All the verified and upgraded locations can now have their Google+ pages. If your locations are verified then your information can appear everywhere on Google- on Maps, Search, and Google+. To use social features on a location, like making a post, hover over Live in the status column and click on the Google+ icon. However, it may take around one week for Google+ pages and icons to appear.
