One of the recent posts by Site Visibility informed that Google has updated their keyword suggestion tool. In fact, even we also noticed the same thing. The update tool will help you target local keywords during research.

Here's a screencapture of the Google Adword keyword Tool:

google keyword tool showing local vs global search volumes

This tool will show both local search volume and global search volume. Under the local column you'll find results specific to your targeted country, language and selection from the Match Type drop-down menu. Whereas the global column will include traffic of all countries, languages and selection from the Match Type drop-down menu.

This new feature will surely help in building and focusing keyword research to a specific country. However, it is also found that the local aspect of the tool is not as local as it could be, but it is too early to make any firm conclusions.

It seems like keyword research is getting more and more ambiguous and difficult as the algorithms get more advanced. People are approaching keyword research a lot differently these days and focusing on words that are trending up with little competition. I will be writing a little about this topic soon.
