According to PC World India, Google Voice Search is now available for users residing in Delhi and other regions in the National Capital Region such as Ghaziabad, Noida and Gurgaon. With this announcement, Delhi has become the second Indian city after Hyderabad, to enjoy the voice-based services from Google.
As per the reports, “This service can be used to search for products and services in the designated area. By calling the toll free number 1-800-41-999-999, users will be able to make their inquiries and the search engine will respond either on the same call or through a free SMS sent later. The service is currently available in India in English, Hindi and Telegu. Google's main competition in the local search arena is of course Just Dial, which also provides voice-based search options to users. Calls to the Just Dial service as charged as local calls and although Google's service might seem more tempting, it is worth pointing out that in India's gargantuan local services and business market, it will be very difficult for Google to get any immediate success.â€
