Google has made some important changes in the feedback segment for sitemaps on Webmaster Tool. The improvements were made on the basis of the suggestions given by various users in their discussion group. The changes can be noticed in it's method of reporting errors. Basically the error reporting is reduced to warnings depending on the context of minor problems or major errors! Previously, there was no discrimination between major or minor problems, all problems were listed as error.

Webmaster Tool provide clients with a free and easy way to make their site more Google-friendly. Using these tools one can get Google's view on their website and it look for potential problems. Google also crawls and indexes the site and tells about the performance rate of the particular site. So, time to time and proper feedback is very important to make you site visible in the on-line market.

The latest changes in the feedback category of Webmaster Tool is designed to give more boost to your on-line business. Now any minor problems in a sitemap will be reported as 'warnings', and will appear instead of, or in addition to more serious 'errors'. With these latest changes made by Google, it sends feedback to the clients on portions of their sitemap that might be confusing or incorrect. Clients will be benefited by these changes as it helps to save the real "error" alarm for problems that make their sitemap completely unreadable. Google is confident that the additional information will make it easier for clients to share their sitemaps with them.

The new set of warning categories with descriptions of many problems had been previously classified as errors that also includes the 'incorrect namespace' and 'invalid date'. Apart from this, Google will also crawl a sample of the URLs listed in the sitemap of the client and will report warnings if it finds that the Googlebot has run into any trouble with them. These warnings might suggest a widespread problem related to your site that needs further investigation, such as a stale sitemap or a misconfigured robots.txt file.
