Currently, Yahoo! and Google are testing new looks for their search result pages. Is it an ordinary change or does the story get deeper, atleast for yahoo?

Google retains its same colors though it now sports a vertical search option plus an additional 'related search' column on the left panel, in contrast to the customary right. Anyone can create this by going to the webpage and adding this code in the browser bar. Philipp Lenssen also has a screenshot of the new SERPs.

Moving to Yahoo!, the new look includes a blue bar at the top – a color reminding of Microsoft -of its search results page. Yahoo! doesn't change its iconic purple. Moreover, it comes at a time where there are talks of a Microsoft and Yahoo! Partnering are making the rounds.
