Google's commitment towards offering faster services has ensured that the +1 button is not left out. Since its launch in June 2010 Google claims that they have been working extremely hard to enhance it's load time.

Talking about the load time of +1, Google's David Byttow, announced, “Today, we’re proud to announce two updates that will make both the +1 button and the page loading it, faster.”

The first of the two updates is, Google has started to roll out a set of changes which will enable the button to load up to 3 times faster than before on your website. For these changes to take effect you do not require to take any actions yourself. Google has done the job for you. So all you have to do is just sit back and reap the benefits of the button loading faster than it previously did.

Secondly, apart from making the button load faster, David introduced, “a new asynchronous snippet, allowing you to make the +1 experience even faster. The async snippet allows your web page to continue loading while your browser downloads the +1 JavaScript. By loading these elements in parallel, we’re ensuring the HTTP request to get the +1 button JavaScript doesn’t lead to an increase in your page load time.” To notice this improvement in your page load time, all you will have to do is update the code to this new async snippet.

The new asynch snippet is available at + Configuration Tool. The image above shows the code being included below the last <g:plusone> tag for the best performance.

So, sit back and enjoy the speed!
