Google's Brazilian affiliate will not be able to give the information about the users of Orkut by September 28, on the grounds that all the data concerning the users is kept in company's  headquarters in USA.  Orkut, which is a  social networking service of Google, was misused by some individuals for spreading  child pornography and and hate speech against Jews, blacks and homosexuals. In August,  Federal Judge Jose Marcos Lunardelli had given Google's Brazilian affiliate time till September 28, for providing information required for identifying the persons involved in these wrong doings. Google spokeswoman Debbie Frost said “ We have and will continue to provide Brazilian authorities with information on users who abuse the Orkut service, if their requests are reasonable and follow an appropriate legal process . It is and always has been our intention to be as cooperative in the investigation and prosecution of crimes as we possibly can, while being careful to balance the interests of our users and the request from the authorities,”.
