Google has introduced some big improvements in Google+ right before the new year. The notifications are now more useful, and photos sharing becomes more exciting. The Google+ Pages have also seen some improvements.
Fine Tuning The News Stream:
Google has added fine-grained controls to allow users to “graphic-equalize” and customize their news streams. According to Google, “When viewing the stream for a particular circle, you’ll now see a slider at the top that lets you adjust how posts from that circle should be blended into the main stream. That way you’ll never miss a post from that special someone, and you can tweak these settings to form your own “perfect stream.”
The notifications in the new Google Toolbar have been given a sharper look. There are now easy-to-read “sneak previews” with which users can see immediately as to what is the notification all about. You can also keep track of the +1’s and shares your posts have received.
Better Google+ Pages:
Google+ Pages have been armed with several features like shared administrators. The improvements made are:
- A page can have 50 named managers as administrators.
- A new notification flow to keep managers informed about every activity on the Page. This will keep everyone involved.
- Administrators will get to see an aggregated count of users that interact with the page (+1ing or Adding to Circles)
Better Photos Experience:
Sharing the holiday photos will be a better experience. With Lightbox, viewing a photo is much more fun with features like navigation, enhanced comment legibility and better overall utility. A new photo-tagging experience has also been introduced with which users can quickly focus on the people in the pictures.
