Lately Linkbaiting has become a big topic for discussion and there is a lot of buzz around it . Todd Malicoat has presented an excellent article on linkbaiting. Everyone wants and needs links. He draws focus upon the main classes of linkbait and gives the readers some great tips along the way.

Todd ascertains that good titles are equally important for a successful linkbait campaign. Todd further explains the difference between Linkbaiting and Viral Marketing. He says, “Linkbaiting and Viral Marketing have a lot in common, but I’m gonna let you in on a little secret – they’re NOT the same. The goal of viral marketing is exposure and branding. The goal of linkbaiting is links! The process may be very similar but the measurement of success is quite different.”
In the next part of his article he draws attention upon the Linkbaiting Hooks. He has added a couple of more hooks, namely 'ego' and 'incentive' hook to Nick Wilson's 5 Linkbaiting hooks. Nick Wilson's five hooks are the 'News' hook, 'Contrary' Hook, 'Attack' Hook, 'Resource' Hook and 'Humour' Hook.
