Intuit has announced a "strategic alliance" with Google that combines AdWords (TM) campaign management and other Google related features into the workflow of QuickBooks. The Intuit-Google partnership and QuickBooks implementation will be available this fall with the 2007 release of QuickBooks. Both companies see the alliance as a long term relationship with considerable mutual benefits.

Eric Schmidt, chief executive officer of Google said, "This alliance combines the strengths of both Google and Intuit to deliver innovative online technologies that help small businesses succeed in an increasingly competitive business environment"
Intuit also announced the acquisition of SME marketing firm, Stepup. The technology from StepUp Commerce, Inc
will enable "users to automatically transfer inventory information to Google Base and attract local buyers to their shops."
