Tokyo's Keio University got the privilege to be added as the latest Google Book Search Project. The main aim of this project is to index the world's book and this time more than 120,000 books written in Japanese language that are in the library of the University will be added.

Keio is the 26th library to be included in this prestigious project and this is the first time when Japanese language is added to Google Book Search. The written materials from the Keio University can be accessed at books.google.co.jp or from books.google.com. where one can search in Japanese.

The authorities of the Keio University are very happy with the news. Professor S. Sugiyama, Director, Keio University Library said, “The Google project allows us to make our collections visible worldwide, allowing us to contribute to research and education on a global scale.” He thinks that their commitment to bring information and media forward into the modern age has helped to make the University participate in Google Book Search.

Other universities who have been already included in this project are Harvard, Stanford, University of Chicago and Ohio State University.
