Bing has added two new features into the Bing Webmaster Tools. The first feature will enable site owners to see more details on the malware issues that are impacting their site. They will further be able to submit a malware re-evaluation request. The next addition enables site owners to geo-target specific pages, directories, or the entire site within Bing Webmaster Tools.
More on Bing Malware Re-Evaluation
Just like Google, Bing also notifies about the presence of malware on the site. It also labels the search results with a warning or at times removes the results, so that the searcher is aware & protected.
The Malware Re-Evaluation feature will not only help webmasters in discovering and fixing the malware problem on the site, but they will be communicating the fix to Bing. Once the request is submitted, Bing will show status and progress of the submission inside the Malware tool. Several deep re-scans will be performed to ensure that everything is clear. Bing will also send an "all clear" notification to webmasters and remove the malware label from the search results.
In case Bing still finds malware issues, webmasters will be notified of the failure and they will be unable to submit another re-evaluation request for some time.
The feature is available in the Reports & Data section in Bing Webmaster Tools.
More on Geo-Targeting
Webmasters can now geo-target not just the entire site but the specific pages or even the sections of the site. Websites can now be geo-targeted at domain level, directory level, sub-domain level, and page level.
The new feature will offer more flexibility to multinational sites as they will be no longer required to verify each section of the website, which they want to geo target separately.
The feature is present within the Configure my Site section in Bing Webmaster Tools.Malware Re-Evaluation and Geo-Targeting Tools Added to Bing Webmaster Tools!,
