Marchex, a company providing search and contextual marketing, has acquired New York-based Openlist, a local, vertical search engine. Marchex also owns a network of thousands of "direct navigation" domains. Openlist is just a two year old company.
The deal is worth $13 million in cash and stock and Berk. Openlist is doing really nice work in Local search. Thus the acquisition empowers Marchex in both local and vertical search.
