The new video by Matt Cutts briefly talks about the things one should avoid while doing guest blogging. Cutts said that spam and abuse is rising in the guest blogging space, so here are four points on what you should not do.

  1. Guest blogging should not be your only link building strategy
  2. Sending out mass emails to offer guest blog to random sites is not right
  3. Do not use same guest article on different sites
  4. Taking one article and spinning it many times is not advised

A guest blog should have "merit" or "editorial value", which should not be lowered in terms of low quality, abusive & automated guest blogging.
