Matt Cutts Not Returning to Google in 2014: Extends His Leave Into 2015

The head of search spam made yet another announcement on Twitter that he is extending his leave into 2015. In his blog post Cutts said:

"When I went on leave, I wanted to see how webspam would go without me. I’ve been talking to people on both the algorithmic and manual webspam teams during my leave, and they’ve been doing a top-notch job. So I’m planning on extending my leave into 2015".

While many Googlers have stepped up in Matt's absence, the SEO world is missing him. He became the face of Google and each of his video or Tweet gathered a lot of attention.

John Mueller, Pierre Far, Gary Illyes, and many others who used to work behind the scenes are doing a great job in Matt's absence.
