Mozy, a company that provides online backup solutions to corporates and homes both, apparently refused Google Inc's purchase offer only to agree to EMC Corp.

According to reports, EMC paid $76 million for the online backup company. This acquisition clearly is Google's loss. If this is the first time you are hearing Mozy's name, let it be known this company was listed in Time magazine's 50 Best Websites 2007. Mozy's services cost only $4.95 per month.

Michael Arrington writes that, "Rumors circulated a year ago that Mozy was close to being acquired by Google for significantly less than this. The company eventually passed on the deal, which must have been a tough call. They clearly made the right choice in waiting."
