[...] I read a blog posting today by the man Jerry West talking about the Small Business Directory from Microsoft no longer accepting submissions. I wanted to convey this to the readers of my blog as well and talk about it for a few. I noticed this a few weeks ago, but that it was a server upgrade or a technical glitch, but it seems to be much more then that now: As of November 15, 2006 Microsoft will no longer accept new sign-ups for select Microsoft Online Small Business Services.
Hey Jerry - Mat Siltala here, it was good to meet you at PubCon (With Chris Bennett from 97thfloor.com) and I just wanted to let you know that I saw this happening a few weeks ago with the Directory. Right away I logged in to make sure I could still manage my listings and I can. There is a feature to add more sites, but I have not tried that yet and am not sure if it works or not. So for now....good for us that have access to it, bad for any future users. This would be the dumbest thing Microsoft could do to this directory if they kept it closed. I would be curious if anyone has some inside info as to why this is happening? Anyway it was good to hang out with you at PubCon and get to know you better!
