Google and Time Inc. have created a new Timelapse site, which shows how parts of the world have changed since 1984 through 2012. For example, shrinking of Columbia Glacier, growth of Las Vegas are shown with the help of amazing animations.
Google has been collecting the images from the US Geological Survey since 2009 and filtered out some good quality images without cloud cover. Users can point at any part of the world to see the changes.
The navigation throughout the site is easy and the site itself explains a lot about the locations. You can easily go to a location and editor's picks over the Timelapse map will show you some of the dramatic examples.
Viewers do not have the flexibility to bookmark and share locations. Moreover, you cannot create animate GIFs of the areas using the tool. But overall, it is a great tool for observing some dramatic and at times scary changes happening all over the world.
