Year 2007. Google is clearly leading the search engine industry. But at times it becomes quite interesting when you look back in time when all the search engines were having a fierce competitions among themselves to lead the web world in 2001. There is a free web based tool named Search Engine Relationship Chart at Bruceclay which takes you back in time to show who led when. There are arrows marking flow of directory results, search results, and paid results. There is a slider on the top of chart showing the history of search engines since 2001 up till April of 2006.
