The shifts and changes in search results noted throughout the industry on Thanksgiving day were the result of Penguin 3.0, the refresh that started rolling out 6 weeks ago. The news was confirmed by Search Engine Roundtable.

Google began rolling out Penguin 3.0 on October 17, 2014 and it has been over six weeks or say 45 days but the effects are still visible. Many sites reported changes on the Thanksgiving day, mostly recoveries. The initial rollout impacted 1% of queries but after Thanksgiving, we are not sure if the impact percent still remains the same.

If your website too has been affected positively or negatively on or after Thanksgiving, do share with us.
