Pinterest has announced the introduction of two new tools for businesses- Do-it-Yourself Promoted Pins and an updated analytics. According to an official Pinterest blog post, while the DIY Promoted Pins will help you drive visits back to your website, the updated Analytics will provide you a deeper insight into how your pins are performing.
Do-it-Yourself Promoted Pins:
The DIY Promoted Pins enable businesses of any size promote their pins to reach more people and get visits back to their site. Promoted Pins were launched back in 2013 but were accessible by only large businesses. The DIY Promoted Pins will be available on a cost-per-click basis through ads.pinterest.com. This means you have to pay only when people click through to your website. Pinterest said it is testing the tool with Vineyard Vines, Nicole Miller and Shutterfly. Those who want to get priority access to Promoted Pins can fill out a form on the Pinterest for Business page and Pinterest will reach out to you, once the tool is ready to get started.
New and Improved Analytics:
Pinterest is updating Analytics to give you detailed insights on what to pin. Apart from seeing what people are pinning from your website, you can also see the performance of pins from your profile. The updated Analytics will tell you which pins in your profile are driving the maximum impressions, clicks and repins. It will also tell you about pins which drive engagement across different platforms. The new version of the Analytics tool will be available on analytics.pinterest.com. Both the tools are being rolled out slowly and it might take a while before they are made available to all businesses.
If you do not have a business account, you can sign up and start adding your own pins to use both the tools. The tools are available only to business accounts.Pinterest for Businesses adds New Advertising Tool Dubbed DIY Promoted Pins and an Updated Analytics!,
