Pinterest is all-set to launch Promoted Pins today. According to an announcement made on the Pinterest blog, each promoted pin will be clearly marked.
Here's what the social network has to say about Promoted Pins:
"They work just like regular pins, only they have a special “promoted” label, along with a link to learn more about what that means. Remember we’re still just testing things out right now, so we’d really like to hear what you think. We’ll be listening closely to what you have to say, and will continue to keep you posted about how things go".
Pinterest had talked about the initial plan to start showing advertisements on the social network in September this year. And according to a recent study by eMarketer, 25% marketers are willing to spend their advertising funds on Pinterest.
The display of advertisements on Pinterest has been the topic of debate amongst users and marketers. Many users are not happy with the traditional online advertising approach that forces them to watch ads or interact with the advertiser before they can actually view the content they are searching for.
Pinterest has promised transparency in the process and assures to show ads that will fit naturally within the social network.Pinterest Launches Promoted Pins!,
