Google is making changes to its search results and the latest seems to be the disappearance of the Google +1 button from constant visibility. This new phenomenon was brought to light by Google Operating System. In other words, the +1 button can be seen on a result you have already +1ed or when you will hover over a SERP entry.

+1 not in SERP

Now the search results do not show the +1 button as before. And can be seen in two exceptional cases. The first one being the on-hover visibility, where move the mouse over the position where the +1 button normally showed and it will pop up. The second case when the +1 button will be visible will be when a site you've already +1'd shows up in results.

This change in the +1 button visibility is a part of tweaks Google is introducing in all its services. The button was released as a test case in March and became active in June. More changes were made to the button and now the +1 button is in everything from News, Image Search, to Shopping.

Another update from the Google headquarters is that there is a new search preferences page. This page is very much in tandem with the new look of Google's other properties.

What do you make of the +1 button losing its visibility? Do share your views.
