At a recently held Facebook Marketing Talks Live event, Facebook rolled out its real time analytics tool. Facebook’s David Software Engineer, Louis Eisenberg, introduced the tool as an aide in connecting and engaging the audience. The insights tool is in action and page admins can see their analytics in real time. So no more waiting for two days to see if your brand promotion strategy worked on not. Real time analytics have been welcomed by brands that often run time sensitive campaigns. In fact even on a corporate information spreading mission, page owners want to see immediate results. With real time data before them, brands can now take faster decisions.
This rapid decision process is best understood by an example. For instance, you manage a toy brand page, and if a video you posted about a certain toy is going viral, then you can promote it further by pinning it to the top. You can also support it further with media or posts. In case stuff is not working as you thought, you can alter it to generate user response.
Facebook has also announced a new metric "People talking about this." As is very clear from the name, you can gather from the metric the number of people talking about your business to their friends and how that affects reach. The number of users includes those who have:
- Liked your page and Liked/commented/shared a post
- Responded to a quiz/event
- Mentioned your page/ tagged you
- Checked in or recommended your place
