The first session of the last day at Pubcon had experts discussing the latest tactics that must be used by link builders to get quality links & increase the popularity of the website. Greg Harnett gave an interesting start to the session, which was taken over by the three industry experts.

Russ Jones gave an awesome presentation on “Low Risk” Link Building and it was quite refreshing for attendees to hear a unique perspective. Russ said that disproportionate raw links to trusted links are the biggest predictor for Penguin penalty, which is an interesting take away from the session. He said, “the closer you are to the trusted link sources in relation to the overall link profile, less likely you are going to be impacted by Penguin”. For Russ, Risk is all about getting penalized, getting devalued, and not ranking at the first place. He said that the biggest risk in link building has nothing to do with getting penalized. It was a little ironic when Russ showed how to buy links in a Low-Risk High-Reward Link Building session.
The Marketing Director of Majestic SEO, Dixon Jones also shared insights on how to increase the popularity of a website with quality links.
Rhea Drysdale recommends that one should Earn Links by being – authentic, unapologetic, a business owner, and a storyteller. She advised that instead of thinking tactically, you need to thin about the business objectives strategically. This will help you in weaving link building into the process.
