Google announces its decision to eliminate Toolbar PageRank from the browser.

The decision to remove Toolbar PageRank has been confirmed by Google with Search Engine Land. This leads to the fact that in case you are making use of a tool that informs you about the PageRanking data from Google, you will not be able to find any relevant data after a few weeks.

Google further elaborated that it still uses PageRank data on an internal basis for ranking algorithm, but external PageRank value visible in the toolbar will be discontinued.

Since last many years, Google has eliminated PageRank from its toolbar and not updated it for years.

There's no point in having a toolbar if PRs are no longer being updated 🙂
