Most popular searches, events that took place, the FIFA World Cup, disasters that shook the world (Haiti earthquake), financial uprisings, obsessions, cheaters and victims, catchy lyrics, most asked questions and inspiring acts – top ten of all these are compiled in the Yahoo! Year In Review.
At number 1 of the list of the top 10 most queried online is the BP oil spill of April that threatened the southern shores of the United States followed by the FIFA 2010 World Cup that brought 32 nations together in South Africa and singer Miley Cyrus at number 2 and 3 respectively. Miley is at the top slot of the 10 most searched persons in Yahoo! The January 12 earthquake in Haiti is number 1 of the natural disasters list and the unemployment in the US topped the list of financial uprisings. The iPhone is the top of the 10 obsessions of 2010, next is Lindsay Lohan, tailed by iPad.
The Cheat Sheet list has two women Elin Nordegren (No. 1) and Rachel Uchitel, et al (No. 2) both associated with Tiger Woods, at the top two positions. Conan O Brien might not have done a top job at the "Tonight Show" but he did top the list of the 10 most ignominious exits. The new pop sensation Justin Beiber's song 'Baby' from his debut album "My World 2.0," is the most searched lyrics while 'How to tie a tie?', 'How to lose weight?' and 'How to kiss?' were the three most asked question online at number 1, 2 and 3 respectively in the top ten list. The top story of the last category of the year review, Inspiring Acts, is Abby's Lemonade – the story of how the young Chicago girl raised $551 by selling lemonade to buy boxes of crayons for pediatric patients.
