The Search Engine Journal has begun announcing the winners of this year's Blog Awards awards. There were in total 19 categories which ranged from the best conference coverage to the best SEO blog.

We heartily thank all our readers who voted for us and they would be glad to know that we have ranked fairly well (6th) for both the categories we were nominated for, namely:
- Best SEO Blog of 2007
- Best Search Industry News Blog of 2007
The votes tally for this year has shown an interesting trend that it's not the quantity, rather it's the quality that matters. The tally shows that even though some blogs accumulated a greater numbers of votes their averages scores were not as good compared to the blogs which got lesser votes whose average score was higher.

Best SEO Blog of 2007: Search Engine Roundtable. SEOmoz and SEO Book followed as runners-up.
Best Search Industry News Blog of 2007: Search Engine Land. Search Engine Roundtable was ranked second and other good rankings came from Marketing Pilgrim, WebProNews and Search Engine Watch.
Best Link Building Blogs of 2007 : Jim Boykin’s Blog. The next best blog was Debra Mastaler with the Link Spiel.
Best Social Media Optimization Blog of 2007: Dosh Dosh. Tamar Weinberg’s Techipedia was ranked as next best.
Best Search Marketing Facebook Group of 2007: Facebook Whores for SEO, SMO and SEM Awareness won the accolades.
Best Local Search Blog of 2007: Small Business SEM. The Local SEO Guide bagged the next position.
Best Google Blog Not Owned by Google of 2007: Google Blogoscoped. The blogs ranked next haven't been mentioned.
Best Search Engine Corporate Blog of 2007: Google Webmaster Central Blog
Best Contextual Advertising Blog of 2007: ShoeMoney. Problogger and Jensense were a tough competition but the ShoeMoney eventually won.
Best Affiliate Marketing Blog of 2007: Shoemoney. This one too went to ShoeMoney.
As more winners are announced the results would be posted on the PageTraffic Blog.
